New Delhi, September 13, 2025 – In a ceremony marked by pride and purpose, Green India Initiative Pvt. Ltd. and its founder Dr. Sachin Y. Shigwan, known nationally as The Solar Man of India, were awarded the Bharat Pratibha Samman 2025 for their groundbreaking work in rural electrification and clean energy adoption across India.
Held at the Prime Minister Museum and Library Auditorium, Teen Murti Marg, New Delhi, the event was organized by the Bharat Pratibha Samman Council to recognize grassroots changemakers across healthcare, education, technology, entrepreneurship, and rural development.
The award was presented by Hon’ble Shri Anurag Thakur Ji, Member of Parliament and Former Minister, in the presence of Padma Shri Shovana Narayan Ji, iconic Kathak exponent, and Prof. (Dr.) Kamal Kumar Sethi Ji, a pioneer in medical research. Under the guidance of Chairman Shri Neeraj Bhartiye Ji and Director Shri Mani Aiyyar Ji, the Council continues to honor India’s silent heroes creating impact on the ground.

Dr. Sachin Y. Shigwan and Green India Initiative have spent the past decade transforming over 1,000 villages across 14 states, bringing light and opportunity to over one million people. Their solar projects power schools, health clinics, farms, and homes, while also enabling digital education and clean cooking.
