New Delhi (India), October 21: Saveena Gadhoke, the President of the Indian Bonsai Association, hosted the highly anticipated BONSAI FESTIVAL in New Delhi on the 20th of October, 2023. In collaboration with the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), this festival will take place at the picturesque Bonsai Park within Lodhi Garden and continue through the 4th of November, offering an extensive celebration of the art of bonsai.

The BONSAI FESTIVAL, presented as the Annual Exhibition known as ‘Bonsai Fest,’ stands as a pinnacle event on the calendar, eagerly awaited by enthusiasts. The festival will also have weekly lectures and other activities.

On the occasion, Amit Yadav, Chairman of NDMC and Koji Sato, Director General of The Japan Foundation, were also present.

Throughout the event, which spans until the 4th of November, the National Bonsai Park will proudly exhibit the unique and exquisite bonsai plants contributed by its members. To enrich the visitor experience, each day will feature lectures and demonstrations conducted by various bonsai experts, providing insights into the diverse forms and techniques of this captivating art form. This exhibition ranks among the finest in Asia and draws in a diverse audience from all walks of life, garnering widespread acclaim.

The Indian Bonsai Association, established in 1981 by the late Dr. Leila Dhanda and Dr. Tayebbhoy with 26 founding members, has since burgeoned into a premier organization in the country, boasting approximately 200 active members.

The Association enjoys valuable affiliations with distinguished figures in the bonsai world, including Japanese master Mr. Tom Yamamoto, American master Mr. Chase Rosade, Mr. Susumu Nakamura, Mr. Peter Chan from England, Mr. Robert Steven from Indonesia, Mr. Hirotoshi Saito from Japan, Mr. Marc Noelenders from Belgium, and numerous others, adding depth and international recognition to its endeavours.
