Successful Conclusion of 3rd HRANI Convention Highlights Future of Hospitality and Tourism

New Delhi (India) August 7 : The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Northern India (HRANI) proudly concluded its 3rd Convention, themed “उदयन्भारतम् Rising India – Shaping a New Era in Hospitality & Tourism,” on August 5th and 6th, 2024. The event attracted over 500 delegates from across the hospitality and tourism sectors, providing a dynamic platform for industry professionals to exchange ideas, share insights, and chart the future of the industry. The convention was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister of Tourism & Culture, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.

The second day commenced with an opening session at 11:00 AM, followed by a series of engaging discussions and presentations. The focus shifted to “Sustainability in Hospitality and Tourism,” featuring a keynote address by Mr. Vivek Jain, Representative from the Uttar Pradesh Eco-Tourism Board. Esteemed panelists included Ms. Ankita Jaiswal, Chairperson of the Sustainable Tourism Committee at HRANI and UPHRA, Director at Ramada Plaza and Ramada Encore Lucknow; Ms. Avni Tripathi, Director of Ahana The Corbett Wilderness; and Ms. Akanksha Singh, Global Sustainability Manager at Radisson Hotel Group.

Ms. Ankita Jaiswal emphasized, “Sustainability is not merely an obligation; it’s an opportunity for our industry to lead by example. By embracing sustainable practices, we can ensure a more responsible and resilient future for hospitality and tourism, preserving the natural beauty and cultural heritage that attract tourists.”

Following the sustainability session, Nestafar showcased innovative solutions poised to transform the industry. The discussion on the “Role of Artificial Intelligence,” moderated by Mr. Harish Chandra, Founder of GHTP, explored AI’s transformative impact on hospitality. Panelists, including Mr. Hemant Khattar, Director of IT at Radisson Hotel Group, highlighted how AI-driven technologies enhance operational efficiency and guest experiences.

“Artificial intelligence is revolutionizing the hospitality industry by streamlining operations and improving customer service through AI-driven chatbots, ensuring a seamless experience for guests,” stated Mr. Hemant Khattar.

The afternoon featured a session titled “Old is Gold,” celebrating the success stories of heritage restaurant brands. Chef Davinder Kumar, President of the Indian Culinary Forum, moderated a discussion with industry veterans such as Mr. Namit Gulati of Gulati Restaurant, Pandara Road; Mr. Kumar Savar Malhotra of The Embassy Restaurant; and Mr. Akash Kalra of United Coffee House.

Networking opportunities during lunch, sponsorship presentations, and the prestigious Award of Excellence ceremony followed. The convention concluded with a session on “Global Trends in Housekeeping,” moderated by Mr. Sanjay Kaushik, Senior Regional Director of Operations for South Asia at Radisson Hotel Group.
