Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 23: Xthtx FilmLab, an independent production house founded in 2020, is making waves with its latest short film, “GO-CHI.” This ambitious project promises a mind-bending adventure into a world of high-stakes technology and stunning visuals.

“We set out to prove that independent filmmakers can achieve incredible things,” says Kartik Mistry, the Creative Head at Xthtx FilmLab. “We pushed the boundaries of what’s possible with an indie budget, and the results speak for themselves.”

What is GO-CHI about?

“GO-CHI” follows the story of Hacker Nector, a member of the elusive tech cult Black Ego, on the run from the government satellite Meghnath. With millions of petabytes of data hanging in the balance, the film explores themes of survival, loyalty, and the ever-evolving relationship between humanity and technology.

What truly differentiates “GO-CHI” is its production by a dedicated team of independent filmmakers. Xthtx FilmLab has achieved a level of visual grandeur typically associated with larger studios, all within the constraints of an indie budget. This accomplishment speaks volumes about the team’s talent and resourcefulness.

Pushing Boundaries in Sci-Fi Storytelling

“GO-CHI” has garnered critical acclaim and national and international recognition. The film secured a Gold Remi Award for Best Sci-Fi Film at the prestigious 57th WorldFest Houston International Film Festival, an honour previously granted to prominent filmmakers such as Steven Spielberg and Ang Lee.

“GO-CHI’s” nomination for Best Short Film at the Dada Saheb Phalke Awards, which bears witness to its quality, is equally impressive. The film’s selection from a pool of over 12,000 entries shows its standout qualities. Furthermore, “GO-CHI” landed a coveted spot in the Top 3 at FICCI BAF 2024 and was awarded Best VFX Short Film at VAM 2024. With its captivating story, stunning visuals, and countless awards, “GO-CHI” is a must-watch for fans of science fiction and independent cinema alike.

Co-Producer Sanket Sagvekar also played a crucial role.
