The recent ceremonies in Mumbai and Chandigarh, hosted by Hindustan Times and IAAPI National Awards of Excellence 2023-2024, celebrated achievements across diverse backgrounds, recognizing individuals passionate about success and growth.

In the presence of India’s top retail leaders, Shalini Bajaj Vij, also Director & Curator of Neon by Hang Out in Delhi and Ludhiana, received awards for “Most Innovative Rides” from IAAPI and “Popular Entertainment and Food Parlour” from HT City Hall of Fame, along with the Women Retail Icon of the Year by Images Group.

With a background in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University, USA, Shalini holds over 30 years of experience in Retail & Amusement Industry, having worked for US-based companies like Caldor, Discovery Zone, Things Remembered, and Rainbow Shops. She has revolutionized the concept of entertainment in India with Hangout, blending technology-driven experiences with contemporary entertainment.

Shalini’s detailed understanding of children’s entertainment needs, coupled with her studies in Child Psychology, has contributed significantly to the Entertainment Industry. She promotes Edutainment, Playtime, and quality family time, shaping the concept of Hangout to be a one-stop shop for complete amusement.

As an entrepreneur returning from the U.S. with IAAPA membership and years of retail & amusement industry experience, Shalini recognized the need for a complete entertainment center for families.
