New Delhi (India), May 21: Bijayananda Mishra, a retired telecommunications engineer turned poet, announces the release of his first poetry collection, “Petals”. Through poignant verses and heartfelt reflections, Mishra invites readers to embark on a journey of self-discovery and emotional resonance.

Born in 1951 in Keonjhar and raised in the vibrant coastal city of Puri, Mishra’s life journey has been marked by a deep appreciation for his cultural heritage and a lifelong pursuit of knowledge. Graduating in Engineering, Electronics, and Telecommunication in 1977, followed by a post-graduation in Computer Engineering Data Processing in 1988, Mishra dedicated his professional career to pioneering projects in computerisation and networking within his home state of Orissa.

During his tenure as a telecommunication engineer with the Orissa State Electricity Board, Mishra played a pivotal role in modernising the state’s banking infrastructure, culminating in the successful implementation of core banking systems for numerous cooperative banks. Following his retirement in 2014, Mishra’s focus shifted towards meditation and writing, with poetry emerging as his primary form of self-expression.

Petals is a testament to Mishra’s resilience and creative spirit, arising from a period of personal adversity following a brain injury in 2016. Despite facing challenges with memory loss and physical limitations, Mishra’s dedication to his craft remained unwavering, resulting in a collection that transcends language and culture.

Drawing inspiration from his deep-seated spirituality and profound appreciation for friendship, Mishra’s verses bloom with the vibrant hues of introspection and camaraderie. Through Petals, readers are invited to pause, reflect, and find solace in the timeless wisdom woven into each poem.

As Mishra’s venture into the world of literature, Petals is a celebration of life’s beauty and the enduring power of human connection. Mishra’s debut collection stands as a testament to his unwavering passion for self-expression and the written word.
